Welcome to Saqiat al Hamda — a 180-year-old traditional Lebanese stone house in the heart of Berbara. This restored duplex offers a private terrace, cozy chimney for winter nights, and pool access just across your door. Stay surrounded by history, music, and comfort in a home that hosts up to 5 guests.
In the coastal village of Berbara, there was once a spring where travelers paused, neighbors gathered, and stories flowed. The area became known as Saqiat al Hamda, a place of rest and connection. More than 180 years ago, a stone house rose near those lands—its walls built to last, its heart filled with the warmth of Lebanese tradition.
Today, this historic home has been lovingly restored into a duplex retreat where the past and present meet. Inside, you’ll find two bedrooms (one with a king-size bed, the other an open space with sofa beds), two bathrooms, and two inviting living rooms. Step outside onto the spacious terrace, perfect for dining and gathering under the Mediterranean sky.
One of the treasures of the house is the piano of Ziad Rahbani, Lebanon’s legendary composer—an instrument that carries the soul of music within these stone walls.
In winter, the chimney glows warmly, embracing you with coziness. In summer, the pool just across your door offers refreshment, making it the perfect balance of mountain air and seaside charm.
Fully equipped for comfort, Saqiat al Hamda welcomes up to 5 guests, whether you’re seeking a family getaway, a retreat with friends, or simply a stay surrounded by history, culture, and the spirit of Berbara.
Come stay where stories have always been told—and write your own in Saqiat al Hamda.
